10 Reasons a girls night in will solve all of your problems.

Girls night in

When life makes you feel a little bit crap, a girl’s night out is the obvious answer. Unlike boys and parents, who in our time of need only annoy us, our girls know how to handle any situation.

1. They give you a reason to get all dressed up. – Having your hair and make-up all done instantly makes you feel a lot better about yourself.

2. They give you a reason (but who really needs this reason) to drink all the cocktails known to man. – The holy water, need I say more?

3. After hours of drinking and dancing the main event… EATING! – With no judgement, this is the main thing.

4. When drunk, or even sober, they give you the worlds best advice. – Jason?! Pft, Jason who?

5. DID SOMEONE SAY VODKA?!!? – If you can’t fix the problem, why not make yourself forget about it. Vodka is 100% effective in personal experience.

6. If it’s boy trouble, there are multiple brains to help construct the best reply to an awkward text. – You no longer have to sit in your pj’s by yourself, analysing just exactly what he means by that.

7. 2 for the price of 1? Well thank you Dominoes, glad you could be of service. – One of the best cures for a achy heart, our real one true love… PIZZA!

8. Unlike in today’s cruel word, with your girls, you don’t have to impress anyone. – They love you as you are D’awwwww.

9. No subject is off limits. – No matter what the problem is, they got ‘cho back.

10. You can have a good old catch up and maybe you’ll realise your problems are not worth crying over. – When you have friends that are amazing as these you can handle any situation like a boss.

So, why don’t you grab that vodka and those face masks and call the girls over, pronto!

Beauty Blogger Award.

beauty-blogger-award

First of all, I would like to thank Shaelyn (makeupbyshae) for the nomination! Make sure you check our her blog!! When I saw that I had been nominated I was over the moon because I have only been blogging for less than a month! Anyway, onto the questions and what not…

The Rules…

  • Tag the blogger that nominated you.
  • Answer the questions you were given.
  • Nominate 10 people whose blog is about beauty or fashion.
  • Make 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
  • Inform the bloggers you chose that you nominated them.

My Answers…

  • What is your biggest inspiration in life? Ooo, this is a tricky one, but I think I would probably have to say my mother. She is such a lovely person inside and out, she would do anything for anyone.
  • What is your favourite make up trend right now? I think it’s definitely got to be eyebrows, all thanks to Cara Delevigne.
  • Favourite Drugstore make up brand? That is a very hard one, it’s definitely got to be out of Rimmel or MUA, considering those are the brands I own most of but for its quality to price ratio, I’d have to go with  MUA.
  • If you could only use 3 make up products for the rest of your life, what would you choose? Okay, this is the hardest one by far. I honestly have no clue! If I had to choose, it would probably be Concealer, Foundation and Mascara.
  • Favourite quote? The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters. -Audrey Hepburn
  • What your best advice to a new Beauty Blogger? Well, I still consider myself a very new beauty blogger, but if I had to give someone advice, I’d probably say if you have a passion about your chosen content, just go with it and make it your own, try to be original.
  • Wheres your dream vacation? There are soooooo many places I’d like to go but I think Santorini is my absolute  dream, it’s just so pretty!!!!
  • Favourite clothing store? I think I would probably have to say H&M, what can I say? Everyone loves a good  bargain!
  • Why did you start blogging? I started blogging because Beauty and Fashion have always been a big passion of mine and I love reading blogs and writing so I thought I would try it out and I love it!
  • What’s your ‘go-to’ outift? At the moment, I would probably say dark wash jeans with a pretty vest, a navy cardigan and sandals.

My Nominations…

I’m going to bend the rules a little bit as I know some of you have already been nominated but sorry if I’ve double nominated you!

My Questions…

  • What is your worst beauty habit?
  • What is your favourite beauty product?
  • What is your favourite beauty brand?
  • Face or eyes first?
  • Do you keep the same make up look everyday or do you change it?
  • Foundation or concealer first?
  • Where would you most like to go on holiday?
  • What is your greatest achievement?
  • What keeps you motivated to blog?
  • Who is your favourite blogger/vlogger?

Evening look using drug store products.

Make-Up Look (Edited & Tagged)

Hello! Today I’m going to be talking you through a simple evening look using drug store products! I love this look as it’s quite simple and its not over the top, perfect for an evening out! So, lets get started…

1. Moisturise – I always use my Simple moisturiser 10 minutes before putting on anything else as it has time to sink in to the skin and create a good barrier between our pores and the make up you are about to apply.

2. Prime – As most of you know by now, I absolutely love my primers! At the moment, I have so many different ones, but for this look I used ‘Rimmel Stay Matte primer’ all over my face and neck.

3. Conceal – Here’s where the magic comes in! I use a concealer mini palette from MUA. I use lilac under my eyes to help lighten up my dark circles. I then use a neutral tone over the top. I then use a green concealer to cover any red areas. For this, I use my Real Techniques detailer brush.

4. Foundation – I then apply my foundation, I use ‘Rimmel Match Perfection in True Ivory (103)’ because I have really pale skin. To apply this, I use my Real Techniques stippling brush.

5. Powder – For this, I just use ‘MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder’ and I apply it with my Real Techniques Powder Brush.

6. Conceal – Again, I conceal but this time I use a lighter concealer (so I guess its kind of highlighting as well) under my eyes because I don’t know about you, but I have have such prominent ‘bags’ under my eyes and I find it so tough to get rid of them. I also use it on my forehead and down the length of my nose. The concealer I use for this is the ‘Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer’. This has its own built-in brush so no need to dirty up one of yours, bonus!!!

7. Sculpt – To sculpt or contour my face, I use ‘BarryM’s Chisel Cheek Contour Palette’. To start with, I use the darkest shade to sculpt out my cheek bones. I just do it roughly because later I will blend it all in. Next, I use the medium shade to mark out the sides of my nose, forehead and jaw. For both these steps, I use my Real Techniques sculpting brush and then the buffing brush to blend them both in. I then go in with the lightest shade, with my contour brush to highlight all the areas like, under eyes, forehead, nose and cupids bow.

8. Eye shadow – Next I apply my eye shadow. I use MUA products for this as I find them so cheap (£4 for a palette) and they are incredibly pigmented, they are definitely my go-to shadow. For this look, I used the ‘Heaven and Earth’ palette. I applied them with my Real Techniques eye set.

9. Brows – Firstly I shape my brows with a eye brow brush. I then use MUA Pro-Brow in ‘Fair-Mid’. I start with the lighter colour on the inside parts of my brows and work it out. I then go on to use the darker colour and shape my eye brows and fill them in. I find if I use a pencil it’s too much, so I just like to use powder to fill them in.

10. Line – I now apply my liner underneath my top eyelashes, I find this helps to hide the fact that you’re wearing a top eye liner as it blends into your eye. For this, I use a black ‘Rimmel Kohl eye liner’. Next I apply my top eye liner. For this I use the ‘Maybelline Master Graphic’ I cannot rave about this product enough! I never used to be able to do wing or top eye liner neatly before and with this it’s just so effortless! It has a very big tip, enabling you to do thick or thin lines!

11. Finishing off – Last but not least, I curl my lashes with my Paul’s boutique curler and apply my ‘Rimmel Wonder’full Extreme Black’ Mascara on the top lashes only. I then apply a little more powder and there you have it! You are ready to go!

So there you have it, a step by step guide on how to create this look! But the real question is Concealer or Foundation first…? Please let me know in the poll below:

Day to Night Make-Up Look.

Day to Night (Edited)

Hello! Today I’m going to talk you through a day look and how its so easy to turn it into a evening ‘going out’ look. So if you’re a bit pushed for time and can’t re-do your make up or simply can’t be bothered (this is more of a Kaitlyn reason) then I’ll show you some simple quick tips that will get you out that door in no time!

So here is just a simple look that I usually wear to work (Excuse the messy hair) –

Day Look (Edited & Tagged)

So here I am wearing – Concealer (Green, Purple and Nude), Foundation, Bronzer, Eyebrow shadow,  a little Eye shadow, Eye liner & Mascara.

Here is my evening or ‘going out’ look –

Evening Look (Edited & Tagged)

So, to go from my day look to this look I added –

A darker Eyebrow shadow for more defined brows. Darker Eye shadow and I added an even darker shadow yet to the crease to make the eyes really pop. A thick line of eye liner along my top lash. A little more mascara and a little powder to set everything. You can also add a nice bright lip and a pair of lashes as well if you would like to make the look even better. I didn’t with this as I wasn’t going out out.

There you have it, a quick and easy way to come home from work and then go straight out! I’ve done this quite a few times and it really does save a lot of time, it’s obviously not as good as completely re-doing your make up but there are pro’s and con’s to everything. I usually like to re-do my make up but sometimes I have had to go straight out so I just used these quick little tips!

Boots Haul.

Boots Haul 1 (Edited & Tagged)

I recently went out shopping and my friend dragged me into Boots. I tried to avoid it like the plague because I knew I’d end up buying too much. Guess what?!? I was right! Anyway, I ended up picking up a few things a lot of things some which I needed most of which I didn’t (oopsy).

Boots Haul 2 (Edited & Tagged)

From Left to Right:

Simple Hydrating Moisturiser: This is my most favourite moisturiser ever! I use this everyday and night on my face and neck. Simple claim to not use ‘harsh chemicals’ so it’s ideal for my sensitive skin.

Garnier Summer Body Tinted Moisturiser: This is something I have tried once before but it didn’t come out as well as I had planned (I’m going to blame it on my awful application). So, I thought I’d try it again, fingers crossed!

Got2Be Oil-Licious Styling Oil: This is not something I have used before and I tried this out on my freshly washed hair after straightening, I already love it! It makes styling your hair SOOO much easier and because it has Argan oil in it, it’s perfect for smoothing out my thick, frizzy hair and turning it into manageable sleek hair. A must have if you have thick hair like me ladies!

V05 Volume Boot Spray: Don’t get me wrong, I have very voluminous thick hair, but recently I have noticed that there isn’t as much volume at the roots as I would like there to be. So, I saw this and though why not? I sprayed it on damp towel dried hair before blow drying it and it gave my roots so much more volume and let me tell you now… it smells bloomin’ LUSH!

Boots Haul 3 (Edited & Tagged)

From Left to Right:

Rimmel Apocalips (Coral): Because I have such pale skin I find it really difficult to find colours that actually suit my skin tone and the other day I found a gorgeous Coral colour unfortunately it’s a matte lipstick. I would have liked a gloss and that’s when I saw this, so I thought I’d pick it up.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Retro Glam Mascara (Black): I have recently been using the Maybelline Falsies mascara and it was starting to dry out so I went in search for a new one but I saw this one and had never seen it before so I thought I’d give it a go.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream (Light): Lately, everyone seems to be raving about BB creams. I have been pretty hesitant to try it as I love my full coverage but I have finally plucked up the courage to give it a go.

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer: As I own basically every baby lips product and I absolutely love my primers this is something I have wanted to try for ages!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (Ivory): This is my favourite foundation ever! It has the best coverage and lasts for so long. I have been buying this product religiously for the past 3-4 years and have never strayed to a different one!

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer: I thought I would try it as I love the stay matte foundation so much.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner (Red Diva): The other day I finally found a red that I thought suited my skin tone so of course I needed a lip liner so I picked this one up absolute bargain!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eye Shadow Stick (Bulletproof Beige): This is one of the products I didn’t intend on buying (oops). Just recently, I love extending my eye-shadow to my nose and my waterline I think it look beautiful as it frames the eye. This makes application so much more simple as I can just draw it on instead of spending ages to perfectly brush and pat on loose shadow and I’m in love with the colour too!
