Autumn Fashion Inspiration #2

Autumn Fashion Trends #2

As you all probably know, Autumn is my favourite season of the year. It’s not just the time of year I love, It’s the fashion. Which is why I thought I would do a second Autumn Fashion Inspiration as since making the first one, I’ve picked up on so many other trends that I absolutely LOVE! The temptation to splash the cash is real…

Stick to Plan A…

A line

Now, this is a trend I haven’t really seen or tried before, a few years ago if my mum showed me one of these bad boys I would have turned my nose up at it straight away. I don’t know why the sudden change of heart, but I absolutely love these. I have always loved the preppy look but this is more casual preppy, I can’t wait to give it a go!

V-neck who?…

Polo Dress

Everyone knows this is the ‘in thing’ this Autumn/Winter, whether its tops, shirts or dresses if it has this neck then you can’t go wrong, they’re absolutely everywhere. There is always some confusion on a personal level as to whether they are called ‘turtle neck’ or ‘polo neck’ but hey, who cares as long as you look good!

These boots were made for walking…

Thigh High 2

In this case… probably not but who doesn’t love a good thigh high? These scream elegance and I just love them. The thing is, with a black boot they mostly all look the same but if you look closer, they all have different materials, heels and shapes, so always choose one that suits your personality AND most important of all (note to self) make sure you can walk in them!

Wrap up warm…

Wrap 2

The Wrap/Poncho have been a trend the past few Autumn/Winters and I can definitely see why! I love these, they’re so cosy and warm. Even better when they have a fur neckline. I think they always look so classy and put together, when in reality, they’re just thrown on over the top, a definite must have!

So, there’s my second little style guide to this Autumn. Hope you enjoyed reading! If you haven’t read my first one yet, here is a link – Autumn Fashion Post #1

Battle of the drug store foundations.

1 (Edited & Tagged)

I don’t know about you, but I love sticking to one foundation all day, every day. Although, now and again I happen to stumble across an absolute bargain so naturally, I just HAVE to pick it up and give it a go. So. here is my run down on a collection of the most popular drug store foundations…

RIMMEL Wake Me Up Foundation – (Retails at £8.99)

Rimmel is a brand I frequently use so when I saw that they had a new foundation out I just had to try it! A lot of people had been raving about this one in particular so I was so excited to try it out. First impressions were good. The formula wasn’t too thick or too thin, just the right consistency. It is a full coverage foundation which is a big plus for me as I love my full coverage. Although, the only part that let it down for me was that the shades were slightly orange. I chose the lightest shade as I have incredibly pale skin and even that was slightly orange on my skin. I did compare it to my other Rimmel foundation and that one wasn’t so orange. All in all, a good foundation, full coverage and lovely finish. I would advise you to properly try out the colours though!

RIMMEL Match Perfection Foundation – (Retails at £7.99)

This is my absolute holy grail foundation. I wear it everywhere, I can’t rave about it enough! It is a full coverage foundation, the consistency is quite thick, but not so thick that your face feels cakey. It has a pore blurring effect so if you have big pores (like me) then I suggest you give this a try and at only £7.99? Absolute Bargain.

REVLON 24hr Colourstay Foundation – (Retails at £12.99)

Personally, I’m not really a Revlon fanatic so I saw this and was a bit hesitant at first, but I thought I’d try it. To my delight, when I tried it the consistency was good. It is definitely a full coverage foundation but it feels very light on your face and the colour choice is very good too. Out of these 5 Foundations, this one is definitely up there.

B. Oil Control Foundation – (Retails at £10.99)

I quite like this brand as they are a harm free brand. I have a few of their products and I saw someone do a review of this and she seemed to love it so I thought I’d give it a go too! First impressions were good. It is has a thick consistency, this one is unfortunately, slightly cakey, but maybe I apply it too thick! I also found it to be slightly orange, likewise with Rimmel Wake Me Up. I think it is a good foundation but I would advise you to be very selective with your colour choice.

MAYBELLINE Dream Flawless Foundation – (Retails at £8.99)

I have recently seen a lot of people raving about this foundation. As soon as you shake the bottle you can tell that it is going to be a light coverage foundation. So, not ideal for me! I tried it out anyway and as I expected, I didn’t like it one bit! It is a very light coverage, so ideal to those who like a very natural foundation. The colour is totally great and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a more natural look.

So, there is my little run down of 5 drug store foundations. I would love to know if you have any different opinions on them or any other drug store foundations!
